JoVoGo Communications Buys Internet Hot Zone in Downtown Baton Rouge, LA.

Baton Rouge, LA (PRWEB) June 28, 2006 -- JoVoGo Communications LLC, a Baton Rouge based wireless internet company today announced that it has acquired, and will be operating, services otherwise known as “Wi-Fi” in the downtown Baton Rouge area. It has also initiated additional services in the Baton Rouge area, New Orleans, Los Angeles California and Pensacola Florida. JoVoGo Communications has acquired from US Wireless Online the public Wi-Fi system which has been operating in the central business district (CBD) of downtown Baton Rouge for one year. The downtown network was initially built and operated by Verge Wireless in 2003 and later sold to US Wireless Online. The Baton Rouge CBD free Wi-Fi network will be undergoing major up-dates to improve connection speed and coverage area. At this time, free access is available, although users requiring secured access back to a corporate office as well as heavy bandwidth users will require a daily, weekly, or monthly paid accounts at wholesale prices.

“In addition to the market areas mentioned, JoVoGo Communications will also be providing wireless internet service at hotels, airports, subdivisions, apartment complexes, office buildings, public places and other privately owned locations” stated Mr. Carlo MacDonald one of the original founders of the company. “We will also be expanding into additional Louisiana communities and cities utilizing grants and other funding sources to provide internet access to foster economic development opportunities, public safety and job creation. In certain situations, JoVoGo will also take advantage of advertising, user fees, and content to sponsor the service.”

JoVoGo will also be offering in the near future add-on services on all of our networks, including VOIP phone services and mobile IPTV services. The company initially plans on using WIMAX technology as backhaul to the Wi-Fi networks, with plans to convert to a 100% WIMAX network as the technology matures.
