Ecorazzi.com, the Web's Source for Green Celebrity Gossip, Celebrates Second Anniversary

Miami, FL (PRWEB) August 13, 2008 -- Two years ago, the founders of Ecorazzi.com, Michael d'Estries and Rebecca Carter, decided to start a site dedicated to the good news coming out of the entertainment industry. "We realized that amidst the gossip out there, there were these little nuggets of inspirational gold that nobody was picking up and celebrating," said d'Estries. "We decided to change that with an online vehicle specifically designed to cover that scene."

And focus on the good side of Hollywood they did. Ecorazzi has covered red carpets from Los Angeles to New York, interviewing the stars on issues that matter. From actor Edward Norton discussing his latest role in helping fight climate change to Tommy Lee showing how he's going green at home. They have also featured interviews with authors, directors, and fashion designers pushing issues into the spotlight to help make a difference for the planet.

Since launch, Ecorazzi has been featured in Fast Company, The Observer, Yahoo!, Positively Green, and a myriad of other media publications, television shows, and radio. In constant growth, Ecorazzi currently pulls in over 300,000 visitors a month.

The success of the site came as a surprise to its founders from the beginning. "We didn't expect anything like this when we started Ecorazzi. It was supposed to be just a small little project from a couple of green bloggers who had never met each other," said Carter. She continued, "In fact, a true virtual endeavor, we didn't even meet face to face until eight months later."

In the last two years, Ecorazzi has grown their team of writers, field reporters, photographers, and video producers to total over 20 people across the world. The archives hold over 3,500 posts covering everything from Hollywood environmental activism to humanitarian efforts and charity. "We decided early on that the need existed to not only cover the environmental passions of those in the spotlight, but also the other important philanthropic efforts underway. Good deeds and acts of charity occur in the entertainment industry all the time. We thought it was time to create a site that truly addressed these initiatives on a day-to-day basis," said d'Estries.

To celebrate two years, Ecorazzi will be holding a month-long celebration with giveaways from some of the best green companies.
