Cooper Aerial Completes Imagery Calibration Project and Launches Interactive Web Service

Phoenix, Ariz. (PRWEB) May 6, 2008 -- Cooper Aerial (http://www.cooperaerial.com/) is proud to announce the completion of an imagery calibration project designed to help the company better serve its clients. The imagery which depicts the Pima Air and Space Museum (http://www.pimaair.org/) in Tucson, Arizona, provides a series of pictures from differing altitudes, resolutions and scales which can be accessed via the company website.

This project was devised to provide a series of sample imagery to clients, during the planning process of a project, in order to help them understand the options that are available to them. By providing visual representations Cooper Aerial is able to help their clients make an informed decision about project parameters, saving valuable time and money.

The multiple image accusations were completed from a range of altitudes, starting at 1,000 feet and ending at 14,000 feet. All elevations were flown over a period of two days, under average flight conditions, in order to remain consistent and provide a series of imagery that can be accurately compared. Historically, Cooper has been able to provide sample imagery from varying altitudes, scales and resolutions but not of the same location.

"I am very excited to be able to provide these imagery samples to our clients," said Jeff Cooper, President and CEO of Cooper Aerial. "This will enable them to better understand the range of options available through aerial mapping and to ultimately receive the product that best meets their needs." Jeff plans to showcase the sample imagery at the Where 2.0 Conference (http://conferences.oreillynet.com/where2007/) in Burlingame, California later this month.

The Pima Air and Space Museum was chosen as the site for this project for a number of reasons. Not only is the area interesting, it contains a variety of features which are often areas of focus in mapping projects. This particular site contains everything from natural and unobstructed ground, to altering terrains and housing. In addition, they wanted to find an area with little color variance in the terrain. While it is more difficult to map a "washed out" area, it is often an issue in the mapping process; Cooper therefore felt it was crucial to choose an area that met this criteria.

The images have been placed on the Cooper Aerial website in order to make them accessible to the company's clients around the globe. The Cooper staff is now able to direct clients to the site in order to help them better understand what they can expect based upon the parameters of their project. The images can even be downloaded for further comparison.

The imagery calibration project is part of a strategic overall plan to continue to meet the changing needs of Cooper Aerial's valued customer base. As an industry leader, Cooper Aerial works diligently to remain ahead of the competition through advancing technologies and customer service. The completion of the imagery calibration project is yet another example of how Cooper is able to leverage their superior technology in order to better serve their loyal customers.
