HauteWind Wireless Internet Weather Station Appliance Released
San Luis Obispo, CA (PRWEB) October 11, 2007 -- HauteSpot Networks Corporation, announced the immediate availability of the new HauteWind Wireless Internet Weather Station Appliance product family. Available in both indoor and outdoor models, the new systems are complete weather station appliances that require nothing other than a broadband connection to gather and publish weather statistics on the Internet.
No longer must users supply a dedicated personal computer to make weather station information available on the Internet. With this simple to use Internet appliance, weather data gathering from almost any location is easy and economical.
The HauteWind Wireless Internet Weather Station Appliance HR-IXPWINDi indoor model is designed for home, school or office use. The weather sensors are mounted outside, typically on a roof, and a simple to install two wire connections is made between the sensors and the indoor controller. The controller can be connected to the Internet using either an Ethernet wired connection or an 802.11 a/b/g wireless connection.
HauteWind Wireless Internet Weather Station Appliance will automatically configure itself to the network. For wireless operation, this means associating itself to the user's home or office access point. For wired operation, this means grabbing a DHCP supplied configuration from the user's broadband router. The user can then configure the unit to function as a stand-alone system viewable through any web browser, or push data to a web site, Weather Underground, HAMWeather, the Citizen Weather Observer Program, or software clients running on PCs or PDAs.
If the user has an IP camera, this can be attached to the Ethernet port of the HauteWind Wireless Internet Weather Station Appliance. The system supports an Internet firewall and port forwarding access to the camera. The system even includes an application to overlay weather sensor data onto the IP camera video image.
For outdoor applications, where broadband connectivity may not be locally available, the outdoor version of the HauteWind HR-WIND Wireless Internet Weather Station Appliance is the ideal solution. Available in a variety of high gain radio configurations, including unlicensed and public safety bands, this 802.11 protocol device can be placed miles from the nearest broadband connection. Where Wireless Internet Service Providers have a footprint, the HauteWind HR-WIND Wireless Internet Weather Station Appliance can be configured as a client node. Or use the HauteWind HR-WIND with a HauteSpot HR-WRAPSX or HR-IXPDX base station on a private wireless network extending your weather monitoring miles from the nearest broadband connection.
The HauteWind HR-WIND outdoor unit is perfect for agriculture, fire safety, public safety, boating and marine, and many other outdoor applications.
The HauteWind HR-WIND has a broad input voltage, making it ideal for solar power operation too.
Pricing for the indoor model HR-IXPWINDi starts at just $599 and the outdoor model HR-IXPWIND at just $899.
