Pearson Announces Speakers and Sessions for Google Web Toolkit Conference, To Be Held Dec. 3-6 in San Francisco: Speakers Include Leading GWT a
NEW YORK (Business Wire EON) October 9, 2007 -- Google Web Toolkit(TM) (GWT) (http://code.google.com/webtoolkit/) makes it easier for developers to build web applications. With GWT, users can develop and debug AJAX applications in the Java language using their choice of Java development tools. The GWT compiler translates Java applications to browser-compliant JavaScript and HTML.
Voices That Matter: Google Web Toolkit Conference opens on Monday, December 3 with pre-conference workshops to help attendees prepare for the week ahead. These sessions include a JavaScript Bootcamp and an overview of AJAX, presented by the co-founders of Nitobi Software Inc. In addition, GWT co-creator Bruce Johnson will demonstrate the business value of using Ajax with Google Web Toolkit.
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday will comprise the core sessions of the conference, all carefully selected to address the topics most pressing for developers using GWT and related technologies. These include: "Tour of GWT Core Libraries," presented by Johnson; "Performance," presented by GWT co-creator Joel Webber; "Usability," presented by Google's Kelly Norton; and presentations delivered by David Geary and Ryan Dewsbury, both authors of Addison-Wesley Professional/GWT books scheduled to publish in late 2007: Google Web Toolkit Solutions: Cool + Useful Stuff, by Geary and Rob Gordon; and Google Web Toolkit Applications, by Dewsbury.

"This event is an invaluable opportunity to connect directly with Google Web Toolkit's talented developer community," said Johnson. "A week of in-depth technical conversations will benefit existing and future GWT users around the world."
"We are gratified by the number of highly visible GWT developers who are participating in this conference," said Barbara Gavin, manager for the Voices That Matter conference series. "The level of interest shows that there is no substitute for face to face direct learning and collaboration- especially on a topic as dynamic and fast-moving as GWT."
