Clyde Waterfront Urban Renewal Project Wins Web Award
Glasgow (PRWEB) September 23, 2007 -- The Clyde Waterfront (http://www.clydewaterfront.com) website highlighting the £5.6 billion regeneration project of the River Clyde was awarded the Standard of Excellence status in a major marketing competition.
The Web Marketing Association accorded Clyde Waterfront (http://www.clydewaterfront.com) the accolade in this year's WebAward competition. In their comments the judges described the use of colour, design and layout as "intriguing."
The Clyde Waterfront website scored highly for its design, ease of use and content in the WMA Non-Profit section of the awards, which are recognised as the premier showcase for website development in 95 industry categories.
In presenting a detailed database of the urban renewal projects (http://www.clydewaterfront.com/currentdevelopments.aspx) in the River Clyde area, the website features an interactive map allowing users to identify developments within the six key areas of the programme at the click of a mouse.
More than 200 projects are described in minute detail with sections also dedicated to business opportunities, communities, up to date news and an excellent image library.
The site has been developed by the Glasgow office of Innovation Digital (http://www.innovationdigital.co.uk) the web design and digital marketing specialist.
Kirsty Innes, Marketing Manager of Clyde Waterfront, said: "Everyone connected with the project is delighted to receive this prestigious award. The website is a key element of our marketing strategy for one of the most exciting waterfront regeneration programmes currently being undertaken anywhere in the world."
Janis Neil Director of Account Management, Innovation Digital, said: "The WMA WebAwards are regarded as the industry's premier recognition. We are thrilled to receive this accolade."
The site is consistently ranked No 1 by the Google search engine for 'business relocation in Scotland' and many other search terms, which has increased their online presence significantly over the last year. The number of new visitors to the site rose from 1528 in August 2006 to 5956 in July 2007.
It is anticipated that the Clyde Waterfront project will deliver:
· 20,500 jobs supported by projects completed, in progress or approved · 30,300 jobs associated with projects in the early stages of development · £5.6 billion projected investment from the private and public sectors · 23,659 new homes · 909,000m2 of office, retail, industrial and leisure space is expected to be developed
